We Met
Nick and I met in November 2009 while I was home on break from Liberty. Our friend Tommy came by a friend’s house to visit and brought Nick along. Our meeting was nothing special and we became Facebook friends shortly after. As an avid student of theology and philosophy, Nick was a person that I sought out during my study of the Bible. Because we were two college students Nick and I would often message each other and say “It’s late at night, why don’t I see you online?!” We continued a friendship through Facebook over the course of a few months while I was away at college in Virginia.
The Start
When I was preparing to fly back to Florida for summer break, Nick offered to pick me up from the airport. Nick was interested in me, but I didn’t exactly feel the same way back. The next couple of weeks Nick and I spend a lot of time together, with me saying the whole time that we would only be friends. But over the course of the summer, Nick and I grew closer and we decided to become a couple and work out a long distance relationship.
The Future
We have spend two and a half years as a long distance couple as I finished my degree and have shared a multitude of ups and downs. Nick and I have spent days in the darkest of valleys, when I was so afraid I couldn’t see past next week, to nights filled with joy and endless laughter. Throughout our relationship, we have never wavered on our faithfulness to the Lord and how our relationship is guided by our faith. There are a lot of things that life can bring us that makes us unsure of things, but one thing that I am confident of is that Nick and I are a couple that was brought together faithfully, and he is the best thing that I have ever been given. We feel so blessed to be with each other and we are looking forward to traveling through life together!
